Auburn: Auburn Football Practice Report
The Auburn football hit the practice fields for the first time since their season opening win over Louisiana-Monroe with workout lasting just under two hours Monday afternoon.
Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville said the Tigers spent the first portion of practice working on special teams before breaking into team drills.
"We got a lot of working on the kicking game in today," Tuberville said. "Then we started putting in the game plan for Southern Miss. We wanted to work some of the soreness out since we didn't practice yesterday (Sunday). We got some pretty good contact today."
Tuberville added the Tigers' younger players got work in Monday to correct mistakes from Saturday's game.
"They (the freshmen) competed pretty well," Tuberville said. "We'll work a little every Sunday with them, even though they might play a lot."
The Tigers (1-0, 0-0 SEC) continue their preparation for Saturday's 11:30 a.m. game against the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles (1-0, 0-0 C-USA) with a practice Tuesday morning behind the Auburn Athletic Complex.
Saturday's game will televised by Raycom Sports.
